The objective of the Rural Case Management Virtual Book Club is to provide training, support, and sharing of best practices among those involved in case management in a small or rural hospital. While measurement of effectiveness in this area may be slightly difficult, the overall discharge planning and transition in care from standard HCAHPS scores will play a key role in outcomes of the efforts of case managers.

Utilizing the book club resource, CMSA Core Curriculum for Case Management (3rd Edition), each session of the case manager book club includes informative discussions and a review of a particular section of the book. The series is led by Angie Charlet, DBA, MHA, RN who brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry focusing on regulations, quality initiatives, PCMH (patient-centered medical home) implementation, and care coordination.

The Rural Case Management Virtual Book Club training series is ideal for Case Managers, Care Coordinators, Nurses, Social Workers, and others responsible for coordinating and managing the care of the individual patient within rural hospitals.
