2025-2026 Scheduling Recertification

The Scheduling Recertification program is a 90-minute learning session designed to provide healthcare professionals working in central scheduling or other pre-service departments education on the critical role of schedulers, the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, and ensuring PHI is protected throughout the scheduling process.

Suggested Audience: Patient access, registration, scheduling and other revenue cycle personnel.

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the limitations for same day services.
  • Identify the importance of verifying accurate demographic & insurance details.
  • Identify the scheduler’s role in supporting compliance with No Surprise Act.
  • Recognize how to maintain a positive attitude, even when it is difficult.
  • Identify key customer service tips that leave a positive impression on patient.
  • Describe what qualifies as Protected Health Information (PHI) and why it's important.
  • Identify high-risk situations where PHI may be inappropriately shared.
  • List three HIPAA-safe scheduling practices.
