Hospital Board Governance Program
HTHU’s Board Member Training Certification Program was created to train hospital board members and member of the c-suite in the critical 
areas needed to govern and lead in today’s ever-changing hospital environment.
A key to a hospital’s future success lies greatly in the governance by its board and trustees. It has become a role that demands active participation by members who understand the hospital environment, as well as are committed to the community it serves. The role is full of challenges, with members facing legal, ethical, and regulatory decisions in a highly evolving industry. Ongoing changes make it critical that hospital boards are provided with ongoing education to provide direction and oversight for the hospital.
Our comprehensive Board Member Governance Program is presented in six subject areas. Designed for both seasoned and new board members, it is formatted to be offered through online on-demand education written with adult learning strategies in mind, and offering continuing education credits authorized by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (Iacet.org). Live training on site and at state meetings can provide additional training to meet the needs of your hospital’s board, as well as needed live webinar updates on major industry changes affecting hospitals. It also includes a supplemental Compliance training section for the hospital’s compliance officer in working with the board, that includes ongoing quarterly compliance updates from healthcare attorneys at Morris, Manning & Martin. It is recommended that Board Members take the six first year *Foundation courses, and then build on this knowledge by selecting additional topic areas offered and added each year.
