Brain changes are a normal part of aging. Brain changes with dementia, however, pose challenges to providers. According to WHO, 5-8% of the general population over the age of 60 have dementia at any given time and there are nearly 10 million new cases of dementia each year worldwide. This 2-session training series will give you new ideas and strategies that will help you improve the interaction and outcome of the patients you care for who are diagnosed with dementia. 

Training sessions will:

•  Compare and contrast delirium and dementia and why symptoms must be correctly identified.
•  Discuss common behaviors, including communication changes, individuals with dementia display, and how care provider approach can affect the interaction in a positive or negative way.
