Hospital Board Governance Program

HTHU’s Board Member Training Certification Program was created to train hospital board members and member of the c-suite in the critical HTHU hospital board governance logoareas needed to govern and lead in today’s ever-changing hospital environment.  The program is offered in two versions– the Full Program version, and a Course Subscription Version. (Which Program is right for your hospital? View the Comparison of Board Training Programs 2016).

A key to a hospital’s  future success lies greatly in the governance by its board and trustees.  It has become a role that demands active  participation by members who understand the hospital environment, as well as are committed to the community it serves.  The role is full of  challenges, with members facing legal, ethical, and regulatory decisions in a highly evolving industry.  Ongoing changes make it critical that hospital boards are provided with ongoing education to provide direction and oversight for the hospital.

Part 1:  “Board Minutes” Industry Updates
Each month or as events occur, Jimmy Lewis, CEO of HomeTown Health, will provide resources that help to understand the key topics affecting hospital boards.  This will be delivered via email, and archived in the link below.

Part 2:  Online Courses and Certification
Our Hospital Board Governance Certification courses cover four main subject areas: Board Appointments and Accountability, Financial Responsibility, Relationships, and Compliance.  Upon completion of the courses offered during the year, individuals can earn the Hospital Board Governance (HBG) Certification.   Included in the accredited courses are “Experts Answer Your FAQ” sessions: recorded interviews with business partner experts answering your frequently asked questions.

Part 3: Live Board Training
Participation in the Board Training program includes invitations to education provided live at the HomeTown Health Annual Spring Conference, Florida Conference,  and Fall Conference.  It also provides exclusive invitations to join in at other various events during the year.
